I have recently attended a rope making workshop facilitated by artist Katie West at the UNSW Galleries after which she gifted me a couple of pieces of yellow cotton fabric that seemed to be cut out of a garment.
I decided to use the smaller piece as a background to attempt a simple method of staining using a teabag.
I started by pressing the teabag against the fabric in sequential order, leaving it at each spot for a few minutes.
Once dried, the stains appeared subtler and the piece of fabric recorded gradation in their intensity.
