Natural dyeing in the kitchen

Increasingly thinking about deriving my processes within the domestic context, I started paying closer attention to the food waste, drinks and spices I could use to make the dyes from.

Noticing the unused piece of red cabbage that has become spoilt, I have attempted to turn it into a dye, using an online tutorial that corresponded to the ingredients I had at hand, such as vinegar and salt (https://www.instructables.com/All-Natural-Cabbage-Dye/).

My well-worn and loved cotton shirt has ended up with a couple of greasy stains I couldn't wash off and has since been on my mind as a potential garment I could rescue by dyeing it.

Although the tonal depth of the dye bath looked promising and the immersed garment/s visibly turned pink, the end result after rinsing was uneventful.
